While appointed by Governor Brown, Farsi currently works under the direction of Governor Gavin Newsom. Governor Newsom is continuing to build off the momentum of Governor Brown and has placed a large focus on climate resilience and strengthening the California economy, particularly in regions of California that face economic inequities.

As the fifth largest economy in the world, California sets the pace for the rest of the United States boasting a nearly $3 trillion gross domestic product. California is first in the nation for new business starts, venture capital investment, and manufacturing. Maral Farsi is proud of Governor Newsom’s message of inclusion and the California for All theme of his Administration. California is a state that understands Americans are stronger when they work together. Apart from growing incentives for businesses to start in regions with less economic growth at the moment, the state is also developing an inclusive “Broadband for All” program. The goal of the program is to ensure that all Californians have access to information that can help them better their lives and their communities at large. Additionally, access to broadband will empower the state’s students and working force to expand their knowledge and scope of influence.
